Door Side Light
Posted this in the Interior section and it hasnt gotten much attention:
Before I start at square one, Im hoping somebody can enlighten me. Project: A DIY light setup that turns on under the cab (shines down at feet) when door opens and off again when door closes. Ive got all lights, wiring, fuses, etc but need to know which wire to tap before I spend time diagnosing which wire is which in the cluster. I know I can tap the wire directly behind the light in the door but am wondering if theres a better spot to attack vs taking the door apart. Any info would be great

I did this a while ago. I mounted the round LED light by drilling a 2" hole in the bottom of the compartment in the door. I spliced onto the wire that powers the red light that is on the door panel and faces rearward when the rood is open.
I didn't take the door apart, I able to do it by prying out the bottom and fartin around with it Worked great for me, hope it helps you. |
