difficult antenna location for CB - need help

Need some ideas for mounting an antenna or two for a CB and maybe my 2m mobile ham radio.

I have to drive under a crossbeam almost every day, and I only have about 4-5" of clearance. (yes, that's with a stock, unleveled 2wd ... there are quite a few scrapes already). Also, I've got a tonneau cover which I use most days of the week to keep stuff out of the rain/sun/etc.

So, I'm kinda short on ideas on where to put an antenna. Maybe put one on a spring and drive slowly so it doesn't hit the crossbeam? Mount it on the bumper?

help!

Can always mount them on your mirror(if you have tow mirrors) or they make hood mounts. Google cb antenna mounts.

On the tow mirrors? Or maybe get one of those mounts that put it above the hood/fender

I have a 2' Firestik on my toolbox and get decent reception.

Zach, how much higher does the 2' firestik stickup above your cab?

Ive mounted on the rear of my bedbox if you have one. Not much of a platform for sending a signal vs the roof on a magmount, but Im sure you know about that being a ham and all. I tend to stay away from the CB anymore since its nothing but a bunch of ghetto rants, beeps/blips and inaudible echo around here...

AgTires- I've got a tonneau, or I'd just sick it on a stake pocket or on the lip of my bed and call it good enough.

Thanks Zach, don't need a pic just curious how high it stuck up and if it would still clear my crossbeam.Sounds like it would.

Joel, did you just take out your radio antenna and install the CB antenna?

Funny you mention that, I just came across the "match-maker" from Firestik and I was wondering how difficult it would be to use a CB antenna in place of the am/fm antenna.
