Idle Question

The past few mornings when I've started my truck, it idles at about 750rpm for a few minutes, then increases suddenly to around 1000rpm and will stay there until I just barely touch the accelerator or brake pedal.

It hasn't done this until just recently, when the weather has gotten cold. I know, cold is relative, but around here freezing is considered cold weather. Does that have something to do with it? Is it normal?

Thanks,

Bill

yes, its called a high idle....once the oil pressure gets high enough it kicks on....also might sound like a jet engine firing up pending the size of your tail pipe....
