Door locks issue

none of my door locks work. when you hit the switch you hear them trying to work and they move just a smidge but it seems like either the motors are shot or they are not getting enough power.

all 4 locks are affected

it has done this since i got the truck and im thinking its a possibility that all the actuators went down one by one until they were all shot and the last owner didnt replace them

That's why I'm pointing to a electrical issue but the 12 volt supply comes from a module and there's one common ground I gotta check according to wiring diagrams on mitchell

Both of mine were bad. Got aftermarket ones from rock auto and they work like a charm now. I have 2 buddies with crew cab f-150's and all 4 of theirs went bad too. Pretty easy to install tho.

It's a common problem with these trucks so don't feel to bad wait until your windows start acting up

It is a commom problem, even for all four to go bad. All four of mine went bad within a month. Got new ones from rockauto too. Still good after two years. PITA at first, but there other three went pretty quick, especially if you know someone with girly hands.

For you guys that bought from Rock Auto, what exactly did you buy? Is it a new lock module for each door?

I bought the dorman door lock actuators. Pats numbered 746148 & 746149. Less than $30 each.
