I have a 2001 f250 7.3 and was told when I bought it that the truck had a new motor at 100k I can not find any record through the ford oasis service report. Does any one have any idea's how to look deeper to see if this is true or not?
PS does the motor have a serial number that I could track?

There are serial numbers on valve cover stickers
I made my Samsung SGH-I997 send this. |

valve covers can be changed over from one motor to the next, thus swapping inaccurate information.
Is there any numbers stamped into the block? I have also wondered this as well... I should have checked out the old greasey spare motor I have, before I put it in the back corner of the garage and covered it with lots of other stuff when I moved last spring. |

the block serial number is next to the oil filter stamped in the block. Really hard to see but its there. Not sure what it would tell you other than the year.

You can tell about what year it is by the block sn... Lower sn, earlier block, later forged serial number probable a 99ish, first run of pmrs 2000, second run of forged 2000-2001, second run of pmr 2001-2003.

Look next to your oil filter, there is a flat spot with the serial number and ill tell you about what year it is.
