Another one of those EBPV questions...
Been doing some reading, and really considering this, but I never got a straight answer to my question...
Can I just swap out the pedestal with the Garrett one and call it good or do I need to do something on the back end with the actual valve and all that? Truck has a 4" mbrp turbo back if that helps anyone. If i can just swap the pedestal and call it good that's going to happen. Sorry to bring it up, but thanks again guys! |

get the non ebpv pedestal. it does not have the piston/spring assembly to engage the ebpv rod to close the ebpv. i would do the high flow outlet as well to get rid of the buttterfly valve and lower your egts. you can find them on ebay or pretty much anywhere else that sells diesel parts.

I gutted my EBPV using the stock pedestal.

Considered gutting mine, but, it gets down to below zero here during January and it does seem to help warm it up in the morning. Plus my EGTs are very manageable (stock tuning/sticks)
But, if you want to delete it, just gut the factory housing and cap the oil lines off. |

Yep you can just change the pedestal and leave the housing alone but since you're already in there, either gut the housing too or get the high flow outlet. eBay has some good deals for the pedestal and housing package deals.
