oil usage

I changed the oil in my truck at 65k, at that time i switched to schaeffer 7000. It now has 67,xxx and is 2-3qts low. It is not leaking anywhere. It has not been low before and i always change at 5k. Could this be from changing brands or do i need to look at something else?

Is there any oil in the fuel bowl?
How much oil did you add? Just curious.

15qts. I know some people say that some trucks hold 16 but mine has always been right at 15

I haven't heard of the brand oil you used but is it made specifically for diesels. If not that may very well be your problem.
