Help needed! Ca.Cat.Converter

Hi Guys,

First post here on Powerstroke, wish it was under better sircumstances.

I've got an early '99 7.3 that came with a cat, I know this because in 2003 I ripped out the old exhaust and went with 4" turbo back w/magnaflow.
Fast forward to new regs in Cali. and my Catalytic convertor long gone. I was able to pass in 2010 which was the first time I had to smog it, No big deal just turn the 4 position tuner back to stock and she passed.
Now in 2012 they check each truck for any emmisions that was stock on the truck and it NEEDS to be there. The owner told me if they get caught the first fine-$2,000, second -$5,000, third you lose all your licenses and he has four seperate licences for his smog only station.
Long story short.. I need a Cat so I can pass in the next month and move on from all the searching I've been doing for a CA. CARB legal cat. No such animal other than a $1,450-$1,600 new OEM cat.

Thanks for the look and any help
Rick

You know whats funny? I have an early 99f350 and want to take it off. Ohh and its a Ca. model truck. Im in Idaho now and dont need it. 1 of these days Ill take it off and straight pipe it, or at least a straight thru type muffler.

None2slow..
What's even more funny is I just bought a home a few months ago in Boise and will be there a couple weeks for Xmas/holidays with all the inlaws.

You or any one out there need some extra money for the holidays?
I'll be in my BIG Diesel 38' pusher and have plenty of room in the basement storage for an extra Kitty
If interested pm me for a phone #

Thanks, Rick

Thats cool. I have a house in Caldwell at the middleton exit and a house in Nampa over near the lake. I work in Meridian for Con-Way freight. When you get in town give me a buzz and we can work something out if you still need the cat.
