PMR or Forged rods?

I know this question has been on here alot.Id like to know which rods that I have.I have a 2001 and my sticker inside my door says 10/2000.I tried to look at some sticker on the valve cover and I didnt find anything that helped me out.Crawled under the truck and looked all over around the oil cooler area.Couldnt find a thing.I know there is a inspection hole you can look through.Do you just pull the plug out and check or is there a trick?Drain oil or what is the trick and how do you go about it?

My 2000 has a yellow sticker in the front of the driver side valve cover. There should be a 7 digit number on it. Mine is 1364118. I don't rememeber exactly but starting at 1426XXX (or something like that) the started using PMR's.

If I find the info I will follow up with it. If you have a 2001 there is a chance that you have forged rods.

1425747 through 1440712 were PMR rods then they started again at number 1498319 through final production

Apparently the serial number list is close, but wrong

Okay got a problem.I got the plug out but can't see anything.Reason is because I have a driven diesel post pump filter kit that is in the way.I tried taking pictures inside also and no luck.The production sticker on the valve cover of my truck cannot be read.Does anyone have any other ideas?

In order to read the number on the side of my chip I had to turn on the video camera and light on my phone and sneak it in beside the plug. Might work for you?

Know anybody with a Snake Camera? I'm sure guys at local shops have them.
