All this DOT & CDL stuff can be confusing (just look at the towing forum above ^ ) and there are people who know a Lot more about this than I do, but, AFAIK, if you have no commercial plates, you go by (at least in my state)...

yes if you have commercial plates or a DOT # you have to stop or they will stop you, the fines are hefty for doing that. if you are hauling your own rv then drive on by. The signs can be confusing as some will read "All trucks" but that is meant by commercial standards.

if its your own personal rv, i'd drive straight through, now if you have a magnet on the side of your truck, take it off, if you have stickers, then i would roll through the scale house, doubt they are going to stop you anyway and IF they did, your on vacation or whatever the case maybe, just make sure you have proof that the trailer belongs to you and there shouldn't be any problems

As a whole. Towing your own RV as a RV you don't have to stop. Type of plate don't make any difference. |

Myself just like 7.3heavyhauler used to haul RV's for a living. If you are the owner they don't want you to stop at all. Could you imagine the jam up it would create if all the RV's going down the road stopped at all the weigh stations and port of entrie's? Keep on rolling and don't worry about it.
