De-tuning a truck
Guys,
I would like to take the 6 gun selector off of my truck and go back to a stock configuration. The wires go into the computer, and i was wondering if I unhook them, will my truck just go back to stock, or does that not happen. My trucks shift points are off a bit, and since i bought the truck with this configuration on, I just want to start fresh and add my own tuning from sombody on this forum. |

Just unhook the battery's, pull out the computer and slide the chip out.. Then you can have that chip reburnt with custom tunes!

I took out the chip today to find out that it's a Bully Dog 6 select. I drove the truck around with the chip out and the shifts seemed better, but I really didn't know what mode I was in since I didn't know what chip was installed. I looked on the website and found the 6 settings to which they work, and I was always in option 5 cuz that seemed the best (+75hp). I guess I could put it back in and just go to option 1, which is stock, but I really don't know what to do. Now I am really confused.

Sell it and get something better.... I like DP Tuner, but there's others out there too... PHP, Beans, Swamps, Wildman, etc... most of them utilize the TS Performance 6 position chip with custom tunes burnt on them from thoes listed above.
Just make sure you got gauges, a better than stock intake/air filter, and at least straight pipe the stock exhaust, as the stock muffler is the real bottle neck. |
