New to forums, want some advice from the pro's =)

Nice to meet you all!

I drive a 2000 F350 Powerstroke Crew Short Box 4x4

Current mods (kinda embarrassing)
Chopped muffler - straight through stock
"ebay special" injection mod...the dial kind like an edge i'm guessing
AFE stage II intake
"ebay special" wastegate bypass
Rancho front leveling packs
35 Nitto terras

I have a ton of questions! but i'll keep it short for now.

My next goal is to make big smoke. Power isn't so much an issue for me. I don't tow anything currently, just throw my friend's and I dirt bikes in the bed.

Not really in the budget to change injectors or fuel delivery. What adjustable set ups would you guys recommend so I could have a little fun with soot once in a while. The search was a little hard to pin down, but any links to similar threads would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a bunch!

a TS chip will make nice smoke...BUT...its not safe to blow smoke without at least gauges (particularly EGT)....and an open exhaust will help keep the EGT's lower...

Welcome to the forum!!!

ah good stuff! just checked and 384 dollars isn't bad at all.

so just click it to 140 setting and keep that turbo out of boost?

also, I think its neat when the smoke streams out in truck pulls. will the stock 3.5" exhaust do that better? Seeing 5-6" setups makes the smoke kinda fall out and dissapate.

Thanks for the warm welcome!!

you dont need to do anything to the turbo...in the 140 horse setting it will blow smoke no matter how good the turbo works....

Call one or two of the vendors on the site, i know Discount power parts can beat that $384, im sure others can too.......

As far as exhaust...you WANT a 4 inch for maximum exhaust gas temp reduction.....you dont need bigger than that though....and a EGT gauge is a MUST!!!! if your gonna blow smoke...

i hear alot about egt gauges, but how does it help in non-towing situations?

what temp lets you know you are overdoing it?

By the time you realize, would the damage already be done?

yep egt's will climb real quick in that 140 , trust me . and the smoke will come if the turbo is spooled or not. trust me on this too.

egt gauge lets you know how far you can get before the damage is done. lets you know when to back out and when your good.
