Programing new key fobs

I was trying to program some new key fobs tonight and could not get the truck to go into program mode as the owner man. states. Any ideas? I turned the key from the unlocked position to on 8 time and never could get the locks to cycle as they should.

I used this and it worked. I had to be quicker with turning the key than it stated tho. How to Reprogram a Ford Remote Key Fob | eHow.com

Well I tried it again today. Went faster this time with the switching from off to on and this time it worked. So much for the owners manual saying you have 10 sec. Oh well at least it worked.

yeah, you gotta do it really fast, it often takes me 3 or 4 trys before I get it... I got new fobs for our Excursion, and the will quit working once in a while... so I go thru the re-program cycle, and they work again.

I did one last night and it took 5 cycles off-run to enter program mode. Glad you got it done.
