depends on the oil your using. most need it around 3k.
these trucks are not cheap to maintain, everything costs more.

Im not sure what the owners manual says, I think 5-6000 miles.I service mine every 3-3500 depending on if I haul alot, the oil stats cleaner that way. I use Valvoline 15w40.

Regular oil like Rotella I say 3000-3500 miles, Amsoil synthetic with the dual bypass filter system I’d guess at 20,000. I tried Amsoil with the factory filter system and it still gets pretty black and dirty looking in less than 100 miles so I couldn’t make myself go more than 6,000 or so before I couldn’t stand it and had to change. I’m thinking of getting the dual bypass system and trying it again. A engine can cost from $8,000 to $12,000 and injectors from $2000-$3000 not to mention labor and down time, oil is cheap in comparison but from what I have seen the crappy factory air intake will ruin the engine a lot quicker than oil.

According to Blackstone oil reports i have done in the recent past, i can get 7000 on a change easily on regular Rottela T 15w40. This depends how much use you get while loaded.
Look into Blackstone.

Owners manual does say 5k so 3-6k depending on driving and use of the truck.. if it sits and idles or crawls the mall parking lot shorter intervals are better. if the truck is seeing some run time on the road you can pull the changes out some. just use some good oil,, Motorcarft,Delo, rottella or shaffers I am also a Amsoil dealer so thats what i use .

I use Rotella and a motorcraft filter and change mine every 6-7000. I can tell when mine needs it though. I monitor my overhead. When it drops 1mpg it is time to change it.

What would you guys recommend? 15W-40 or more like 5 or 10W-30 ? (in mind the 7.3 diesel engine from 2002)
