Dodged a bullet today!
Came out to get in the truck today and noticed a little puddle of oil under the truck
....crawled under her and I had a mess under there!! was dripping between the trany and engine block and from the oil pan drain bolt... My first thought was "rear main seal" ....I Broke out a can of brake parts cleaner and cleaned it up real nice and clean under there, ran to the corner store and back then checked her out again..oil all over the place again!! cleaned everything back up again and while wiping it down noticed that the 2 oil pan bolts closest to the trany where about 2-turns loose. Tightened them down and went to town and back while saying a and when I got her back home slid back under her and NO OIL!!!! Made sure no one was watching and a little jig beside the truck haha....

These darn truck seem to rattle themselves apart. I've had my starter rattle loose twice, hpop lines loosen up, bolts that hold the turbo together loosen and one is missing.
Glad to hear it worked out for you man. |
