FINALLY!!!!
I PICKED UP THE MOST RECENT I SSUE OF DIESEL POWER MAGAZINE AND TO MY SURPRISE THERE WASNT THE USUAL CUMMINS ON THE COVER. I OPENED IT UP AND THERE WAS LIKE A FOUR PAGE STORY ON WIDE OPEN PERFORMANCES 7.3 RACE TRUCK, ARTICLE ABOUT A 4 TURBO 7.3 DRAGSTER, AND THE DIESEL POWER CHALLENGE WHICH HAD SOME POWERSTROKES MAKIN DECENT NUMBERS ALL OVER 500 HPS UNLIKE THE LAST ONE WHICH ONLY HAD A GUY WITH A BANKS POWER PACK AND THE OTHER GUY JUST HAD NITROUS. MIGHT I ADD THE 7.3 POWERSTROKE WON THE SLED PULLING PORTION OF THE EVENT BY A WIDE MARGIN. I JUST THOUGHT IT WAS NICE TO SEE THE POWERSTROKES BEIN WELL REPRESENTED INSTEAD OF THE USUAL BORING STORY ON A CUMMINS OR DURAMAX MAKIN A CAJILLION HORSE POWER

Nice to hear good things about our ol' 7.3's... Not to hijack, but... a question... You speak of 'Diesel Power' in your post, and seem to inply that you feel the 7.3 PSD gets downplayed, and little coverage... I'd like your opinion of which mag has the best coverage for our trucks? I'd like to get a subscription, what do you recomend? I've had subs to '4wheeler' and 'offroad' for years, just now thinkin' of findin' a new mag... your post is bringing up the motovation for me to stop at the store and pick one up... I'm courious! |

I get diesel power every month too. I don't think it is too bad. I have gone through several mags and counted how many of the 3 brands is in each. Diesel power is usually pretty equal all in all. If they are short one month, they usually make up for it later. Plus with a 2 year subscription, it is a heck of a lot cheaper.

I also have a subscription to Diesel Power. The first four magazines you get are really cool, but then you'll stop to wonder why you would ever want to know how to pull a sled? I do pull a sled, but it's made of aluminum and goes up skinny rivers...I'd like more info on how to do real world towing mods in real world situations with a real truck. Honestly though, I wish there was more TRUCK emphasis in these mags, not just so much "how to build a gazillion horsepower and half a gazillon pounds of torque". I'm not trying to bad mouth it, it's just that I'm an average guy wanting to do average mods to my truck as a whole not just the engine (yes, I realize it's called Diesel Power). I guess I'll have to break down and by an off road mag too? Any suggestions? |

i have a subscription to the powerstroke registry but its not really about performance. there i dea of performance is a superchip tuner magnaflow exhaust and a k&n intake. it
more or less cover maitenence and common problems with the powerstroke still a good read just not really geared to performance like the other mags |
