My red truck had a skull shifter on it when I got it... never did like it, not a skull type person. I found a shifter knob in the barn, not sure what it came from, but it was stock looking, and more what I wanted... pulled off the skull to put it on, and found splines, not threads like the knob I had. Where there's a will theres a way, cut off the threads, tapped out the inside of the shifter tube (7/16 tap was perfect) and used a bolt with the head cut off to adapt the knob to the shifter!

I know that's not a cool, custom, billet, or shiney, but it worked for me... and no more skull!

yup, after hacking my stocker shifter up, for clearance of the gauges underthe dash, i realized how hollow it was. Damn thing was "stuffed" onto the rubber grommet on the end. So, i removed everything, and got some round stock to slide over wherethe grommet was, welded it up, and on top of tube, inlayed a nut, welded it, ground it up clean, and bam...have threads for the dice. Now sits a baseball, lol.

If I had a manual, I'd either have a 6 shot .44 mag cylinder, with empty casings in it of course...Maybe a matching one in .357 for the transfer case if it was manual...

Or the big ol' knob that Eaton uses on its Roadranger semi truck transmissions, just b/c those things are so comfortable in the hand...
