Tire Size

Mornin all,
Just a quick question this mornin, was wondering if a set of 315/75/16's will fit the stock for wheels for my 1999 f250. I have a leveling kit comming and these are the tires that I am looking to run, will I have any problems?

Thanks in advance.

You should be fine I see alot of the 99-02 F-250's and F-350s running this tire size with stock rims and a leveling kit. But your not going to be able to run them until the leveling kit is installed. If you do they will rub when you turn.

Thats what I run, they are not as stable as the smaller tires I used to have but I have gotten use to it. They will grab the leaf springs and scare the heck out of the wife if you turn too sharp. Here is a pic of the 315 on my stock rims Shutterfly | Slideshow

Same Here. I have those sizes on my 99 250 and the only time I rub is if I make a hard turn while going over a bump. Otherwise they are great. I went with the All-Terrain tire since I end up in many fields, but didn't want the sound of the mud tires when on the road.

to what point is it unsafe to run that big of a tire on stock rims?

If you go taller the width gets wider and will start balloonig the tires out and it'll feel like squirrelly. The wider the tire the wider the rim.
