sorry i have been gone for a long time but i am back. all work and no play. any way i have a 01 crue cab 4x4 4 inch lift and over size tires. getting ready to do a make over to it. and was wanting your thought on things with out busting the bank. im wanting fuel mileage and towing. i am for a 4 inch turbo back no muffler but do not want the drown noise in the cab. looking at putting a ram-air hood on it with cold air kit and wanting to change out my tuner. what is the best combo to go with and not bust the bank as i only have 3500$ to put in it and that will include pant. all work will be done by me i know the hood is 800 and the cold air is 300 as it is a kit. any other info would be grate to know where to get a good buy at.

Well then DON'T do the "ram air" hood. Just do a DIY intake.
Get gauges. Do the exhaust. Then custom tunes. What are your goals anyway? |

my goals are to make my ride look nice again the photos of my truck are when i first bought it. i am wanting to get as much fuel economy out of it as i can. + a set up for towing. right now i do have a turbonetics turbo that racked me $2000 can run 38psi all day. i can only get 25 out of it. im running 2 trans coolers up front for my towing. and am running a sniper down loader. and i do have a snow kit on it. and put a walker truck muffler on it. every thing else is stock. my average mpg is around 15. 18 if i baby it and 13, if i run 85 90 mph. the truck got in a hail storm so i do need a new hood. that is why i was looking at a functional ram-air hood. truck will get up and move so i really do not need any more power i just want to gain more efisancy at a resable price. and had worrys about some of the things like the drone noise i can not have that. am looking for every ones thought on thing that will not brake the bank. like 4" turbo out cheep but good pipes. any thing to get as much fuel out of her i can. i know more power will come with it as i put the upgrades on i need to put some new photos up here.

Boost doesn't always mean power.
You need custom tunes to get the most out of it. A valve body would be good for you. An FRx won't hurt, as well as a hard line HPx. |

im running a 75 hp tune. whitch i know there is better. but what is the rest you are talking about. valve body is trans, but the rest?

Custom tunes aren't rated by HP.
A valve body firms and quickens shifts. Look up the FRx and the dead head fuel rail system. do you know how the HEUI system works I made my Samsung SGH-I997 send this. |

I know a litle about it. As the inj is ran off oil presher. And i have put in a new high presher fuel pump in 2 years ago but as for that i realy have not looked in to it enless i have a problem. This is why i am asking? ???? So i can make sure to to do this right ans gain mor knolage about my truck. I have done all the work to it for the past 7 years clear down to puting a number 2 piston in it. Due to a hydra lock. So i am very mechanicly inclin just need more info so i know what to look for. All i have is a programer no custom tune that is why i said HP. And it is the tork that plays the roll. So i am like a sponge right now.

dude $3500 will get you a LOT of power and mods!!
