How much can 7.3L make?

I was reading the November 07 issue of diesel power and there doing the Diesel Power challenge. The winner of the Dyno test was a Dodge with 956 HP and 1,605 Lb-ft, #2 was another dodge with 852 HP and 1,453 Lb-ft, #3 was a Duramax with 750 HP and 1300 Lb-ft. Finally a Ford was #4 with 715 HP and 1,179 Lb-ft, but it was a 6.0L. The highest 7.3L in the competition was 601 HP and 1,077 Lb-ft. My question is how much horsepower and torque can a 7.3L make? O and a Duramax won the whole competition.

The 7.3 can make as much power as you want -- it all depends on how much you want to spend. The common rail system sounds cool! Can't wait!

a couple years back if im not mistaking cant remember the magazine or the shop that did it , but i remember something along the lines of 900 horse and 1500 torque , that might not be exact but i do think that its feesable to get that , i cant even remember what all they had done , but you could look at the engine and see it wasnt stock, i bet someone here read that also back awhile back , im sure there are some pulling trucks doing in that range around
