WD-40 works well to just wipe up, don't have to worry about water.

Either or, simple green or any degreaer of your choice, garden hose and some plastic grocery bags to wrap around critical parts, air filter, electronics, etc. etc. Be sure to get off the degreaser as well as you can. Be critical where you hose and how much pressure you use.

Compressed air to dry is always helpful.

Maybe find yourself a non-alcoholic engine shine to use afterwards.

I wouldn't high pressure spray anywhere in the engine compartment. Use some good engine degreaser and just use a garden hose or low pressure spray and it will take care of the valley. There is a drain hole for the valley so just let it drain.

Also be careful with the degreaser as it can be rough on plastic parts also
