Long Distance Trailering Necessities

I'm only traveling 2 1/2 hours from Columbia, SC to Beaufort, SC. It's gonna be right around 150 miles each way. Just curious if you guys have any last minute tips on things to bring with you.

This is a tandem axel trailer with 4 tires. On it, a 23ft Key West CC being pulled by a 2003 F250 7.3L diesel. The truck should be mechanically sound and drives great (recent oil & fuel filter change)

The hubs on the trailer have recently been greased.
I have one spare tire for the trailer and one for the truck.
I've got a t-bar that will fit all the truck lugs as well as the boats.
My truck's jack is in good condition and I've got a few pieces of wood in case I have to jack it up in dirt/mud on the side of the road.
CPS w/ a 10mm socket is already in the toolbox.
I've got extra oil for both boat and truck.

All the trailer lights work properly and the safety chains are all in good condition. (two for the trailer, and one on the bow of the boat)

Anything I'm missing?

I should be leaving in an couple hours after I'm finished packing everything....figured I'd try to suck up any info before I left.

Thanks guys!

How about a box of Scott's shop rags? They always seem to be very nice on the bottom

Sounds like you got a good pre-trip plan goin on. I always like to keep about a 10ton bottle jack for the trailer, in case of a flat tire. I would place it right under the axle and it lifted it up with no probs.

a good set of wrenches, ratchets, sockets, screwdrivers, etc would also be a good thing to keep on board.

zip ties (a man's best friend), wire strippers (for all those lights) black electricians tape, electrical connectors.

Haha, Thanks!

Oh yeah....both batteries in the boat are fully charged! None of that trying to start up on the boat ramp crap....it DOES start on the boat ramp!

Don't have a spare hub for the trailer....not yet at least. I towed the trailer home from Charleston, SC a couple months ago and stopped to check the hubs for any hot ones after driving for around 60 miles. They were all cool to the touch. I figure I should be fine after pushing some new grease through them.

I'm good in the tool department.

Don't have reflective triangles, but I do have extremely bright LED lights on the trailer.

Trailer nuts were recently broken and put back on with anti-seize three weeks ago.

I'll probably throw my grease gun in my truck's toolbox.

I can't really think of anything else right now...

I'll throw the floor jack I've got in the garage in the back of the truck. That'll do it no problem

Already got a good toolkit along with everything electrical I could ever need......you know, in case I have to rewire the trailer on the side of the road in the dark and in the rain
