I might have to sell the truck if I can't improve the MPG. So if anyone knows what I can add to gain a 6-8 mpg improvement I would appreciate it. I think the tires are 285s I have never added any thing I live in Texas so the cold is not really a factor.

Add a vegistroke system, then go to your local McDonalds and start collecting there used french fry oil and whalla! Free fuel thats cleaner burning and you truck will love it too!
Actually I don't recommend collecting oil from fast food places. Some of the best, cleanest oil is from Asian Resturants. They change there oil more regularly and therfore they have lots of it to get rid of. Most of them (if you can get past the language barrier) will let you have some or all of it.

This is exactly right except the part about using 1-2 gallons on a start up. I drive about 4 miles untill everything is hot and switches systems so i use maybe 1/4 gallon (quart) on each startup. There for on a 36 gallon tank, considering my commute to work one way is 30 miles i got 2400 miles to one tank of Dino-D the lst time i filled it up. I no longer run it full to avoid the extra wieght. When my low fuel light comes on, i stop and put 5 gallons of diesel in it and that last me 2 weeks.
Hey CHenry, is there a way to create a warmer for the "oil" tank that you can plug in all the time, Such as a block heater, or am I off base and you already have a system like that?

Sure you can add pad heaters to the tank but the thing is, theres no reason to heat the whole tank (mine is 90 gallons). All that needs heated is the oil traveling up the fuel puckup tube and through the lines, though the filter and to the injectors. It uses engine coolant to heat all this system so the engine has to get hot and open the thermostat before hot coolant is circulated to the tank where the first point of heat is at the fuel pickup line in the tank. I plug my truck in year round...In the summer it's not needed to start easier of course but I'm heating the coolant so when i get in in the morning, the ambient temp outside is 80, and the engine coolant is already 140*. Now I only have to drive about a mile untill the thermostat opens it switches over to vegi. Plus, the the fuel rails are my final heat exchanger so i need the engine heads to be nice and hot before i run any oil through them and to the injectors.

From what I read I would like to have one just don't have the time to collect the oil and treat it and filter it and store it. etc. I'm super new to diesels so I don't know enought to do that kind of mod.
