if your paint is bubbling there is rust behind it. as for as sanding it won't help for long. i got 6 months out of sanding it. the only way to get rid of it completely is to replace them

I was glad to never find any rust on my 99, but the moment I saw any traces I was quick to fix it.

I looked at the undersides of the doors...yep...it's very very slight but I see a few bubbles starting. I'll keep up w/ it the best I can but for a truck w/ only 88,000 miles on it there should not be any rust.

thats the best way to fix it, nip it in the bud. might try a product like this too.

gonna get some myself to tackle a few small spots i have on the inside of my door frame.
