It's a waxy film coating, you should be able to get it through Grainger or MSC. I use it on motors and stuff I store, real good but a real pain to take off.

OOPowerStrokin,
Lone Ranger here, Look I can tell you what we use in Oz... And they are products that you can find in the U.S. They all work by cutting off oxygen to the rust.. Water feeds rust, the free O2 in the H2O.. Anyways, they all work by sealing off the rust from oxygen and water... One is a Valvoline rustproofer, and it seems more of a waxy based brown spray. Then there are a variety of Fish Oil products that go on like a varnish, and dry to seal it off.
Then there are a variety of Products that have phosphoric acid in them, like the "Rust converter" types....

My best suggestion is remove all loose rust you can, then paint the Rust Coverter type of clear thin liquid, paint it on and let it dry 24 hours. The phosphoric acid converts the rust to an inert black material. Then top coat with one of the rustproofers.. You can get them in a spray can, for preventatively doing this (Rustproofing your truck) before you get any rust. The spray goes on inside kick panels, doors, tailgates, the kinds of places the rust would start. NOTE, rust out comes from the INSIDE... That is where you want to spray particularly if you are in a rust area where they lay it on black ice on the roads, or like for us driving on the beach. We rust proof our trucks when they are brand new..!!

Regards from Oz, Lone Ranger

I just fixed my tailgate, we'll see how long it lasts. After wire-wheeling all the rust out I primered the crap out of it. Then I put 3 layers of fiberglass in then bondo'd it smooth and painted. I may start checking junkyards for a tailgate though. What tailgates will fit on a 2000 F-250? I'm thinking at least the 99's through 2003 model Superdutys. Anybody know?

i did my tail gate in december 05 and it is already back. check the bottom of your doors. mine are going fast. infact i just got my price quote from the body shop. $3200 for 4 new doors and paint. rather than sell my truck and lose my butt and pay 1500 for tax on a new one, i think that i am going to bite the bullet and get new doors. thank you ford for your cheap metal on the 00-01 trucks!

Looked at my doors today and no rust, however the paint is kinda blistered/bubbly, but no rust. Tailgate is a different story. It has rust. Now if I could remove the tailgate I'd probably sand the effected areas and re-paint it, It won't release from the left side hinge thing, eh oh well.
