Tranny cooler upgrade

I will be installing a 31 row 6.0 tranny cooler in my 00 7.3 and have a questions for you guys which have done this. Can I just drop the cooler and slid the new one in or do I need to remove my bumper and grill? Also how much more fluid do ya'll have to add? Thanks

The grill removal is a must. I believe the front bumper removal is optional, but it gives you a lot more room to play with. For the little effort it takes to remove the bumper, it is worth it. I believe I lost somehwere around 1 - 2 quarts. FYI when you do the install, the 90 degree tabs on the bottom of the cooler should face the engine.

I changed my cooler when i did the 05-07 front end swap. pulling the stock cooler out with just the grill of has to be a bear.

Pulling the bumper off makes it much easier. if you have a second set of hands, its worth pulling the 6 bolts to do it. especially for figuring up the new hose routing.
