Interior Lights not working
I have a 2002 F250. The interior lights and cargo light will not go on. Reading lights work fine. I am getting 12 Volts on Fuse 35. I do not get any voltage at the light sockets.
The 'roller' Switch has a Blue, Orange, Black and Brown wire on the wire harness that plugs into the roller switch. I get 12volts only on the orange wire with it disconnected and when connected. So I seem to have power to the swtich.
When I turn on the headlights, the Blue wire now will give 12volts and roll down to 1volt as I roll the switch down (to dim the dash lights I'm guessing). And the Brown wire will give a constant 12volts with the headlights on. I'm going to guess this is the ding ding ding sound I hear to let me know the lights are still on since I do not get the ding ding ding with this specific harness disconnected. (the headlight harness has stayed connected to the headlight switch throughout this test)
So this would leave me with a 'dead' black wire. Maybe? Should this be putting out any voltage at any point which might mean my switch is bad OR is this a ground wire and never see voltage. Which means my problem is somewhere else. Any ideas? Could I jump any of these wires to see if the lights will go on? Schematic anyone?
