is mercon V ok for transfer case?

Just changed the fluid in transfer case with mercon V. Now wondering if thats ok or should I have used something else. I want to use synthetic. What are people using?

MB HPOP, PHP Hydra, AFE stage 2, 4" turbo back exhaust, gutted cat, ford reman trans, JW valve body, 6.0 trans cooler, EGT trans temp boost gauges, Hutch and Harpoon mod, riffraf FRx, Pro Comp leveling kit, 1" zone shackels, 08 rear diff cover, 315 Toyo AT2,

What you used is fine but next time just use mobil one synth ATF fluid.

The owners book says ATF, but I have heard that mercon V is only for transmissions

I don't see why. I wonder if the TCs that are in 03+s take MercV.

So is the mobile one better than mercon V? Or it just a matter of opinion.

So I talked to ford and they said not to use mercon V. They said to use xl-12. So I change the mercon for the xl.

I would use Mercon/DexIII.
