is mercon V ok for transfer case?

Just changed the fluid in transfer case with mercon V. Now wondering if thats ok or should I have used something else. I want to use synthetic. What are people using?

What you used is fine but next time just use mobil one synth ATF fluid.

The owners book says ATF, but I have heard that mercon V is only for transmissions

I don't see why. I wonder if the TCs that are in 03+s take MercV.

So I talked to ford and they said not to use mercon V. They said to use xl-12. So I change the mercon for the xl.
