Smile PROJECT: 99 F250 SUPERCAB SHORT. 7.3 powerstroke

Just picked up a 99 f250 super cab short bed. for a trade (invested value of $1200) for our 97 f450 zf5 7.3 contractors flat bed.

Just got her home, she has a no start issue.

With a good CPS will the tachs still move on these?

i thought since my tack wasnt moving that it was CPS. pulled the one out of my 95 CPS and put it in, nothing happend didnt even move a bit?

will the year CPS i put in work for the E99?

truck was made in 11/98

im going to check IPR next and see if its opening. then gonna check fuses and wiring. previous owner had the idiot dealer motherF*****s look at the truck and said the fuse box was bad not. so they replaced that & didnt fix anything.

ill scan it too and do the code, buzz, koeo test etc.

Traded this for it

Check ICP pressure with scan.
A CPS of any year will give it a signal, so swap any spare for testing.
Check fuel pressure.

What's this truck going to be? Red Bull or Full Throttle?

Subbed of course.

ten points Bill.

Gabe here is my order of business...

1) New CPS
2) Fuel pressure
3) Wiring inspection, connections etc
4) Try an IDM
5) ...all the rest.

Oh and IMO the famous "tach bounce" that everyone talks about doesn't mean squat.

well when my truck didnt run my tach didnt go up when cranking. i changed it and it did. im gonna cehck ipr. and run some scans. they screwed with wiring so ima look into that too.

also this is just a investment. my mom likes the truck lol (rare) so we might keep it. most id do is rims and tint, 05 conversion.

IDM before IPR Gabe. Everyone likes to run straight to the oil when there is a no-fire but if you took a poll of the knowledgeable guys here, the number of actual oil system failures would be surprisingly low to most people. Yes it does happen but most of the time our no-fires are electrical or fuel.

.......frosted flakes? I know they are grrrrrrrreat but wtf are you talking about lol
