Up pipe exhaust leak
Hey guys while changing my oil yesterday I discovered that I have an exhaust leak on both of my up pipes. My question is this: I need to use my truck to make a 1300 mile round trip to move my brother out of state. Is my truck safe to drive on this trip while pulling a 3k pound trailer? Replacing the up pipes is a must for me I just don't think that I have time to get that project done before he has to move. But on the other hand I don't want to risk causing further issues by delaying this repair. Any advice is greatly welcomed.

Most uppies on the road are leaky. Really, unless you can hear the exhaust leak or the rattle I'd make the trip. You have guages? Look for high egts since your turbo will become less effective.

I do have gauges so I can keep an eye on the egts. The only time I can hear the leak is with the truck under a load in the 1600-1900rpm range before the truck down shifts. Thanks again for your input

As long as you aren't running it tuned with no EGT gauges and leaking up pipes, you're good.
