E99 questions...... I think.....

My dad bought a truck yesterday its a superduty with a 05/99 build date which I assume would make it an E99 truck. First of all what are the differences between the E99 and my 01?

Also the guy we got it from says its got a generic 60hp chip in it. It is not in the PCM and when we called the guy he said it was under the hood. Where would be the place to start looking to find it? I gota get it out of there for some custom tunes.

If it's under the hood it's just an ICP resistor mod basically.

Also, E99s to L99s transitioned on 12/8/98 I believe.
From Dirk - 12/8(ish)/98 and before is the early. 3/99 and before is early suspension.
