gas fuel pump on diesel?

just wondering but i can't really see the difference but i have a brand new fuel pump that i had with my holley projection, obviously gas engine but would that pump work with diesel?

Depends on the seals and the amount of pressure it can maintain

It MIGHT work for a while, but in the long run you will be much better off just putting the correct pump and not having to worry
