6.0 Turbo on 7.3

I have a question... why has no one tried to put a 6.0 Turbo on a 7.3 truck? I know at first its obvious that it doesnt bolt on necessarily, but I come from the race car world where almost ANY Turbo build is custom done. Meaning custom mounted and plumbed. It would seem to me that there would be a way to make a variable turbo work on a 7.3. Has anyone tried this? Is it just not worth the effort?... Would be nice to have that 6.0 snap out of the hole on a 7.3.

tons and tons of threads on this. The issue is electronic, not mechanical. Should be able to read up with a simple search syntax.

Hrt is doin a vgt compound setup but he forgot more about diesel engines last week than we all know combined. If someone would design a stand alone vgt controller then it would be plausible but for the costs of 38r's now days its hard to justify

We put dodge vgt turbos on our 6.5's its not THAT hard. Not sure how the 6.0 turbo works but the dodge can be set manually if you don't want to wire in the controller.

IIRC the 6.0 turbo is too small for much more than a stock 7.3.

How much power does the 38r generally support?
