Have valve covers off what now? VIDEO of truck idling

Hey all,

Well i took the valve covers off to check the uvch to make sure they were good. They were both good, Is there anything else to look for to tell if the injectors are bad?

I'm having a serious lack of power towing and major shudder at certain speeds. I thought it might be the UVCH but now thinking maybe injectors. What is my next step, since I already have the valve covers off.

I made a video of the truck idling (below). Let me know what you think.

Does this sound right 99 f450 - YouTube

PS im having no codes or smoke.

I would say check the uvch but u saiid u already did. It may be just one injector or 2. While it is idling unplug one injector at a time when it starts to run normal again that's the bad injector. That's I'f u have only 1 or two injectors bad. Or u could get a buzz test and that will tell u what injector is bad

A bad injector will cause hard cold starts too

I just replaced my injectors a couple of months ago after 300k though they had been worn out since I bought it at around 220k. There is a product called hot shot secret it was designed to "clean" the injectors as over time they can be plugged with sludge oil. tried it but my injectors were too worn. There are two things you can do. first you can take the truck into the dealer or another experienced shop and have a cylinder contribution test. explain to the shop your concerns. The other option is to pull the injectors and take them to a shop and have them test to see if they are actually working at proper pressures. you may also have a sensor that will give you those issues, but the contribution test can find those issues.
