DD-Tow Rig
Guys, Im bored at work and thought id share a little "build" of sorts about my superduty.
1999.5 F350 Ex Cab Short Bed. 6 speed truck that had 168xxx when i bought it. Also has a gooseneck hide-away and bumper hitch. As far as i know it only had a 7" mbrp stack and was told a edge programmer on it. Originally i liked the stack, but after a few weeks i decided to ditch it. Went ahead and ordered a Diamond Eye 4" turbo back kit. Now, thinking i wanna go back to a single lol!! Heres what it looked like when i picked it up... ![]() ![]() I was kinda eager to pick up a diesel because DSM Central tnt was coming up and i really didnt want to pull the car up with my dads gasser (96 f250). Talk about a difference pulling with a diesel!!! Now i know why people loves these things!! Snapped a pic at the race track, wish the truck was cleaner but owell. It was pouring when i loaded and left home... ![]() Picked up a set of tires from a local guy 285/75/r16 bfg m/t's. Needed something to get me by until i decide whether i want new wheels or not. (sorry pics are blurry) ![]() ![]() Snapped a pic after getting the rubber on, this is my dads 57 ford. We just sold it about a month ago. ![]() Since it was pretty well stock, i went ahead and ordered an intake, and a set of gauges. After looking around here, i went ahead and ordered a 6637 filter kit from riffraffdiesel.com. ![]() Then i found the complete gauge kit from dieselmanor.com. I decided to go with the 2 gauge set-up being my truck is a 6speed. ![]() Gauge instal was pretty straight forward... ![]() Drove the wheels off this thing without any problems untill it developed a bad oil and fuel leak... ![]() ![]() Went ahead and ditched the EBPV in the turbo pedestal, new seals and turbo bolts were installed Ordered a seal kit from diesel-o-rings.com....Great kit! Finally got around to fixing the front bumper the best i could, its twisted so untill i find a good local one this will have to do.. ![]() Started to hear a weird sound from the front drivers side....pulled er in the shop and front tire wiggles like crazy...yep, wheel hub assembly is shot. ![]() ![]() While the truck was down, dropped off my lariet wheels and new coopers at a buddies to have mounted... ![]() ![]() ![]() Had a buddy make me a set of shackles to level it... Its not quite level, BUT its perfect with a load behind it. ![]() ![]() Couple recent shots after doing a quick wash on it... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Will update more later!! Good stuff....looks so much better without the stack. It looked horrible with that little short, stubby thing back there.
