Fuel Guage Issue Please Help!!!!

Hello, Im new to forums and I have tried to search for an answer to my problem with no luck. I have a 99 250 7.3. the fuel guage doesnt work properly. I took it to the service shop and they installed a new sending unit and guage. The problem is still there. If anyone knows what could be causing this, please let me kno. I really dont want to spend a whole lot more money at the shop. Thanks in advance.

What is your fuel gauge doing? is it staying on full all the time,, or empty? how far is the indicator off? does your trip meter works correctly that way you have some way to gauge when to fill up. The float is probably bad in your truck. What kind of truck, bed length or tank size.
