Strange noise when I let off accelerator???

Hey guys I wasn't sure where to post this so I figured it would get the most exposure here, so here it goes. Well Im driving my truck today and I started hearing a strange noise when I let off the gas going about 45-50 mph. The only way I can describe the noise is it sound like static or wind noise coming from the engine compartment. The noise seems to cut in and out when I am decelerating. And as far as I can tell it does not effect performance or drive ability.I know the description of the sound sucks but I was a front end tech for 6 years on gas cars and I have never heard a noise like this. Any help would be awesome.

You have a turbocharger spinning at very high RPM... that air has to go somewhere when you let off the pedal...

Nope. I know what a wastegate sounds like. This noise is continuous, the wastegate just goes woooish. This noise happens when I let off the gas going about 45-50 mph and goes on until about 15 mph.

you will never hear the wastegate, ever

It's the worlds quietest waste gate so you won't hear it all it is the built up boost going back out through the air filter

Its just weird, I havent heard it before. It doesnt sound normal to me. So when I let off the gas under easy accel its normal for the boost to just bleed down the whole time you are decelerating? I mean its a very noticeable noisde.

I hear that in mine after installing the 6637 filter, but didn't with the stock air box. I'd assume the stock box muffled the sound.
