Should i install superchips 1705?

I got a used superchip 1705 programmer and he unlocked the vin so it will go right into my truck (2002 f-350) but im wondering if this programmer is worth running for a little while before i get a chip or to not evenbother till i get a chip? i don't want to screw anything up with the programmer.

If you don't wanna chance anything don't run it. Too many bad stories.
Unless you run it on the lowest tune and don't WOT it all.

Thank you! i haven't done too much reading on it because i just got it. it came of my buddies 99 dually and he had it on for 6 years and gave it to me for free so i didn't know if it would do more harm than good.

I have been running the same tuner for over a year with no issues. While I admit it is not great, it is much better that stock. I got it very cheap so I figured I would give it a try....

I would run it just til you can get some custom tunes for your truck. Maybe while your at it pick up a intake setup and open up your exhaust by removing your stock muffler.
