Doing EBPS Cleaning, found Surprise!
Well I figured I mine as well clean this bad boy because I just bought the truck and wasn't sure if it had ever been done. So I remove the sensor and tube. Pull the tube out for inspection, found a big *** Hole on one of the bends! Well time to replace it. Luckily one of the local ford dealers had it in stock on $42, put it on and everything else back together. Pretty easy fix, hopefully I will get better MPG's. What else would a hole in the EBPV tube cause besides bad fuel mileage?

Conceivably, the EBP sensor would register lower pressure and tell the PCM to close the EBPV more. Bad for performance.

Yeah the truck feels like it has better pickup. Throttle response seems better as well.

I had this a few years ago. Had a breakdown out of town for another reason, and they also scanned a code for exhaust backpressure sensor. I checked before making another trip and researched what the ebpv was and how it worked and was amazed at how much more pep the motor had once it was opened. I have since deleted the whole darn thing.
