Adding Keyless Entry

I have an 01 XLT f350 and would like to add key-less entry to it, at least a key fob and possibly the door keypad as well. Anyone done this and where can I find it?

Thanks.

Yep, i lost mine shortly after i bought the truck. And only recently learned from this site that you can replace them very easily. Cant remember exactly where i got the link from but i ordered mine from Amazon it was $11.00 came with simple instructions on programming. worked like a charm. But you may need to make sure your truck already supports a keyless entry. That it already has the wiring and sensor. But if you do you can Google Ford F250 Keyless entry or even search Amazon direclty

It's something like you turn your key on and off about 10 times and if your locks go up or down, you have keyless. I read it here once and tried it on my own truck with a big fail. I also wish I had it.

true, didnt think about that. That's exactly what i had to do to program my replacement. The instructions say to make sure all accessories are turned off and doors are unlocked. You turn the to the on position then off again 7 or 8 times within 10 second and correct, if the doors lock then you have the keyless entry feature and the key fob is ready to be programmed, press the unlock button on the key fob ... if it unlocks its programmed and you are good to go

What model truck? I would assume if you have power locks you have keyless entry

I have 02 f250 ccsd xlt and I'd agree if you have power package you most likely have keyless entry

Remote Keyless Entry is listed as a $170 option on the original build sheet for my 2000 F-350, so I'd assume that means it wasn't a standard feature.

not always the case... maybe with one as new as 02, but my E'99 and 2000 trucks do not have keyless remote, even with XLT/power door locks... the 2000 Excursion Limited does, and was very easy to program new key fobs to it...

Cycle the key switch from the 'steering wheel unlocked, but not run' position to the 'run' position quickly, 8 to 10 times, stopping in the 'run' position, without trying to start it, and the door locks will cycle if you have keyless remote... at this time, hit the lock button on your fobs, (all of them, any not pressed at this time will no longer work), the locks will cycle as you press each lock button on each fob, then turn the key off. The fobs now work.

I tryed this with both my trucks, and no luck... I'm disapointed.
