K&N FIPK?

I recently purchased a 99 F250 and it has a K&N FIPK installed. Is their any issues with the FIPK or are the problems only with the drop in filter? Would it be worth my time to switch to the DIY filter setup?

I purchased a brand new K&N FIPK and installed it on my '01 PSD a few months back. While cruising through the forums here, I noticed several discussions bashing K&N (talks of the turbo getting dusted). Living in a dirt-road setting, I immediatelly let the paranoia from threads on this site get the best of me. I went out, disconnected my setup and took a look at the turbo fins. They turned out to be fine (having put about 5k on the truck since installation). Apparently, the problem occures when having cleaned the filter and re-installed it with too much K&N oil. Shouldn't be a problem if you don't over-do it. I still went out and purchased the NAPA 6637 (I think it was like $35) for future peace of mind.
