Hello all. I joined to ask about a 2002 F-250 with the 7.3L diesel engine. This truck has 191,000 miles and we trust the seller. He will sell it to us for $10,000. The truck has leather, new brake job, and tires at around 70%. I am unfamiliar with the Ford transmission with these trucks. Are they any good? How long will this truck last without any major problems? It would need to last me through college (Junior in HS).
I would like to have any input Andrew Johnson A diesel lover! |

![]() ![]() ![]() Has it ever been tuned/chipped? If so, it may not last as long as others. Mine is at 323k miles with the original trans everything. I put in a different valve body for quicker, firmer shifts, an external trans filter to keep everything clean, and only one full trans flush. That said, I'm on a lot of original things as far as the motor. They are very tough, forgiving motors, even with somewhat neglected maintenance. But as long as maintenance has been kept up, even better. |
