Yeah I did the CCV and it was almost free and made quite a difference.

The Zoodad is really not meant for the early 99 unless you have an AFE stage II or equivalent. The AFE switches the flow of air from in the fender to the area the zoodad would be cut in. So if you have an AFE you can just cut a hole and go but in my case, for example, I had to devise something to get air up to the filter.

+1 - the Zoodad only "helps" on the 99-07 models that draw air from the front near the radiator support...

here's my crappy looking one (for now - right Rob? )

ZOOZADD?? IN WINTER

Any need to cover up zooDAD intake hole in winter to prevent rain/snow into close to filter?? Also does covering up grille in cold weather do much or hinder air flow??

No need unless you just want to - thousands of people run them in harsh conditions with no problem..

and yes covering the grill will hinder air flow

using a piece of screen will continue to let air flow in but at the same time break up snow and water particles
