Question Fuel Sending Unit Question??

Hey guys I picked up a tank, sending unit, straps and skid plate for 75 bucks on Craigslist this week because my truck has always ran out of fuel at 1/4 tank and it sounds like its either the sending unit or the pickup in the tank but for the price I couldnt pass it up.... my question is, the sending unit I bought doesnt have the white piece above the pick up, leading me to believe that it is off of a 05 and up truck, does anyone know if this will work on my 99?

Thanks in advance!

This is your problem

E5TZ-9J306-BA "Fuel Tank screen" (about $42 from ford)

its a rubber part, gets hard and breaks up

When it fails you start running out of fuel at 1/4 of tank, will cause electric fuel pump failure if not replaced

Easiest access to Tank is to remove the bed (6 torx head bolts) then spin off fuel sender cap, and pull sender unit
You don't even need to disconnect the fuel lines to replace the screen when bed is removed

You'll need a 24" strap wrench to remove the sender cap

Would I be able to put 05 and up sending unit in my truck or is it no compatible because it doesnt have the whiteish color screening part on it?
