4.10 Gears or Electronics
So i have a 2002 F350 with 7.3 crew cab 4x4 3.73 4r100 35" intake 4" exhaust wastegate sct with custom 140+ HP ok down to biz i love the truck it gets 21 mpg but when i tow my toy hauler (11K lbs) and i gotta keep the truck n tailer up to 65+ to keep it in the power band so i was wondering if i should go with 4.10 gears or get a better towing tune and maybe the banks trans command? or any other ideas to bump up the towing and not kill the wallet and MPG's.... please help

You are getting awesome mileage... so good, that I find it hard to believe... Anyways, itd be cheaper to put smaller tires on the truck than regear.

Innovative Diesel i got the 140+ and just cruz and its nice n when i did all the math and found i was getting 21 with a lifted 4x4 i was shocked and super happy

your towing your toy hauler on a 140 tune with 35s? what are your EGTs like?
I play hell keeping my truck wound up in the higher tunes when towing with my 6sp, maybe you should look into a tow tune with a little less timing and fuel. Jim |

No I tow in thr sct stock towing tune but I was wondering if a custom towing tune would be any better or if its not enough to matter .... I was just saying its my daily driver n I get great mpg n don't wanna lose it haha

4.10's are the best bet. But it's a chunk of your wallet because you need to change two.

4.10s are gonna kill your milage and any truck with a turbo you have to keep the rpms up to the power up and egts down. Turn the od off if you're have problems but if egts are in check i wouldn't worry

unless there is something wrong with my truck; I can tell you 4:10's are going to kill you.
My truck is an 03 F350 CC LWB DRW with 4:10's. I get 10mpg in the winter and 12-12.5 in the summer and this is empty. granted I only drive 15 miles to/from work, I get the worst mileage ever. I think 3.73's are ...Nevermind with 35's and 4:10; you should bring your gear ratio back to around stock (3:73) but you will most likely see a slight drop in fuel mileage. |

Yah i want the 4.10 but since i dont tow all the time i was hoping i could fox it with couple little things......... My dad had a 03 f350 drw with 4.10 gears and 4" exhause and he gets 16 high way..... I want to do everything i can to keep my milage tho
