K, and as far as early or late 99, my truck was made it 6/98. That makes it an early 99? My intake comes from the fender, if that helps. And a big thank you for all your help guys!!!!

Early 99 so you have a smaller turbo... and smaller injectors then the later 99. Check and see if your intake horn has an AIH plug... if it doesn't then you definitely have an ealry 99. The early 99 only pulled air from the fender - not the front... so that's a good observation.

WIth the smaller turbo and injectors you're not going to see the 18psi that most on here do with their 99.5+ trucks... I'd be guessing but you'll likely see around 15 or so PSI. You basically have the same motor calibration as the OBS guys have so going by what they see if probably going to be your best bet to compare.

Maybe an OBS guy can jump in here and give us some baselines as to what he/she see's on their truck.

ok, I looked at the turbo, housing, and compressor wheel. I took pics....I also noticed that there are 2 harness plugs that are not hooked up. The first one is to the left(passenger) side of the fuel bowl. its the first pic. The second one is right behind the fuel bowl, to the right(drivers) side. Its got a metal clasp retaining thing on the plug. what do these go to? the third pic is my compressor wheel. It seems a little eat up on the edges. What you think? Oh, and on the intake side of the turbo, it says 1.10 AR. thought that the stock ones had 1.0 AR?

ok, nevermind. just read where someone had listed their turbo size, and it also said 1.10 AR. Oh, I did check my air filter, and it was dirty, plus the filter minder was all the way up. Would that affect my boost and EGTs? and, if I did upgrade to a larger, later 99 up stock turbo, and bigger injectors, would that be a sensible thing? or do i just need to upgrade the turbo. Or, would a chip like a T wildman, do it justice the way it is now? I am not looking for 600 HP here, just some more than stock for fun.

The first one might be your fuel heater to the fuel bowl. Check right behind the fuel bowl about 2/3 the way down and see if you have a harness plug attached. The second one looks like the plug for the exhaust back pressure valve. That plugs into the solenoid on the front of the turbo pedestal. You need a new compressor wheel and yes if you filter is clogged it will cause you to lose boost because you can't pull enough air. Physically grab your compressor wheel and see if you have any movement at all laterally and in and out. Looks like some pm is needed. I would change your fuel filter change out your air filter or get a new intake see if you turbo is still good by seeing if you have any movement in the shaft get your truck scanned for starters.

maybe there are boost leaks? Might be something to check if the EGTs seem high and boost low.

what does the red line on the waste gate do?
would it benefit to remove it from a 6.0 engine?

Its a pressure line that pushes on the spring and moves the wastegate actuating arm to open the wastegate and bleed off boost pressure. The 6.0's don't have a wastegate.
