Turbo!

I was simply wondering if anyone had any tricks or ideas to make the turbo on a 7.3L any louder... other than the usual exhaust and intake mods?

the intake and exhaust tricks are about the only things you can do to make it louder, i suppose you could find a turbo with a smaller turbine side which will spool sooner but you will loose top end performance.

silencer ring

I don't know if the powerstroke has a silencer ring but I know a cummins does before the turbo. It does just that...silence it. So when you take it off it sounds that much more like a big rig.

Cool Turbo noise

Hi there farmboy: How are you ever going to finish harvest if your on here all the time?? Ah, just mess'n with you. I hope to have an answerfor you soon. I read some other posts that said the wicked wheel not only spools up faster and is smoother under a hard pull but also makes a nice scream. I have one on the bench. I had mine in for a turbo pedestal oil leak last week but the dealer will omly swap out turbos, no repairs

Cool Turbo

Hi killer, When we put the new intake on the 03 3500, I was shocked at how restrictive the factory tube was. That new tube and fiter was like a new engine.

So you still have the factory tube and air silencer. There is a cool site called intaketubes.com. I'm measureing up for a superduty system now. I have the aluminum pipe and I mirror finnished it inside and out. I just have to get the right elbows to line things up. The thing we wanted with the Dodge was to get ram air through the front. Let me know if you do it.

You know I wonder if I could get an air grabber hood for it. (the one with the little piece that pops up when you start it.)

Are you old enough to remember the coyote duster package on roadrunners? What I have on my X is in the grill and is black so you can't see it.

No not really

Was that when they painted the coyote on the air cleaner? What else was in the package?
