John Deere has a 0w40...I ran it in my cummins...only oil I saw a mild mpg bump.
https://jdparts.deere.com/partsmkt/d...15W40_0W40.htm Nice stuff but very spendy. Most of the lower 48 has no real NEED for it, a 5w40 will flow well enough in very sub-zero weather. |

Thanks. I am thinking of switching from Amsoil 5w-30 to Rotella 5w-40

I'm probably switching over to Mobil delvac 1 0w-40. Nothing but good that I know of.

Yeah the guys from the Alberta , Sask, BC Powerstroke FB group are saying the same thing. I think I'll try that next oil change. Got some heavy towing going on the summer so I'll be that soon.

Yeah. BC here. From the island, even so though. We dot get bad winters like ab or sask. I still decided to jump to a 0w-40. Synthetic is the way to go. Had a post while ago about this. Nothing wrong with going a 0-40 up here no problem. All I do pretty much is toss a 2700lb slide in camper dry and tow a 18.5 bowrider behind me.
