Door latch removal

I have an E99 F350 CC and the little switch that shuts off the overhead light when the door shuts is a little erratic. I bought a replacement switch but I had no idea what a project it would turn into to change it.

The best I can figure, I need to take out the latch to get at everything. I can feel the switch and it wobbles around, but I can't really see it.

So, how do I get the door latch out so I can get this thing snugged up? I've got the 3 bolts holding the latch to the door frame out and the door lock knob is disconnected, but I can't see how to get the door handle and door lock motor disconnected. Am I going to have to take the window and register out?

Just spray down your existing latch with WD40 and it should fix it. If not, there are rods for the locks and door handle that clip onto the latch... they're kinda a pain in the butt.

Well you sure hit the nail on the head about being a pain in the butt. I found that right off. I was hoping for a trick that would make things easier. Oh well, I guess I can give the electric lock a spritz while I've got everything out. It's been sticking. Actually, they all have been sticking.

The lights can be fixed without removing the door locks. Just spray the latches down. What do you mean by sticking? Are your power locks not working? Again, common problem. If you search on here, there are a ton of threads on how to fix it.
