Adding Glowshift gauges.. which to choose
Ok i am going to add some gauges to my truck. I will be adding the Glowshift gauges and the Gauge Pod that mounts to the driver side door frame. I am not sure if it is worth me getting a set of 3 or set of 4. Here is what i have
i have a 2002 F250 7.3l 2WD and about to install a 6" lift with 35" tires. I do not really do a lot of towing or hauling. only a 17.5" ski boat. The reason i am installing gauges is because i will be adding one of the Tunes sets. Whether its the Phoenix 6 position chip or something else not sure yet. but wanted to add the gauges first. My question centers around which gauges should i order. I found GlowShift Performance Gauges & Pods that allows me to select either a 3 pod package or a 4 pod package and select the actual gauges i want. so considering my application, how i drive the truck and how i dont do a lot of tower if i go with the 3 gauge set i believe i should get the gauges as follows: 1. Trans Temp 2. Exhaust Gas Temp to 2400 deg (or 1500deg???) 3. Booster Gauge - 35psi or 60psi??? are these the best 3 to go with? total package will cost me $224.97 before shipping if i go with the 4 gauge package i am same as package 3 and add the... 4. Oil Pressure Gauge are there any other systems i should think about monitoring with a gauge??? Total package will cost me $267.97 before shipping other gauges they have are - Air / Fuel Ratio gauge - Booster / Vacuum gauge - Volt Gauge - Vacuum gauge - Oil temp gauge - Water temp gauge - Fuel Pressure Gauge to 100psi - Air pressure gauge WOW i didnt realize you had so many choices on gauges and systems to monitor. anyway, any thoughts on which gauges my serve me best in the 4 or 3 package?? thanks in advance |

If you were to get the quad pillar pod I would do pyro boost trans and fuel pressure. Not trying to tell you what to do but I would not get the glow sh*ts. I have run both glow shifts and ISSPRO and when I got the glow shifts only 1 of the three gauges worked and the pillar didn't even fit correctly. The ISSPRO are much better gauges IMHO.

i agree with the fuel pressure, i have a oil pressure and wish i wouldve went with the fuel. i have glowshifts and havent had a problem but they are a big down grade from isspro's. those things are nice.

that exactly the kind of info i am looking for.... I have read other opinions.. Still very new to a lot of this but others seemed to like Glowshifts - and was also wondering how well the pod would fit.
do you have a link to a site similar to the one i listed that has the ISSPRO gauges? are there pods for these gauges??? thanks for the info... i dont want to waste $300 |

Ok so after doing a little bit of checking the ISSPRO Pods and Gauge kits only come in 2 or 3 gauge kits. at least from what i see on XDP website. and the cost is double to the Glowshifts. ISSPRO tripple kit is about $550 where Glowshift Quad is $267. i realize you get what you pay for. i just dont know if i can swing the $550 after spending tons on lift kit, wheels, tires, etc.... LOL, Never ends LOL..
May have to either decide to hold off for a while or pull the trigger on the Glowshifts. Not sure yet.. If Glowshifts are junk ... then of course i dont want'em thanks again |
